What is CMD?CMD (Custom Music Discs) is a Minecraft data pack + resource pack combo that adds brand-new music discs with unique songs and features.

How does CMD work?CMD uses Minecraft’s data/resource pack system. When you install both packs, you’ll get new custom music discs that work just like the vanilla ones, but with new tracks and extra details.

What version(s) of Minecraft does CMD support?CMD always updates to the latest stable release. New disc won't be back-ported!

Is CMD free to use?Yes! CMD is completely free.

Do I need both the data pack and the resource pack?Yes — the data pack makes discs exist in-game, and the resource pack adds the music and visuals.

Can I use CMD in multiplayer/servers?Absolutely. Just install the data pack on the world/server and give players the resource pack. NOTE; You can't add CMD through the server properties resource pack link due to it being to large for Minecraft! All Server players must install the CMD RP individually.

How do I install CMD?Drop the data pack into your world’s datapacks folder and the resource pack into your resourcepacks folder. Then enable the resource pack in-game.

Where do I put the data pack and resource pack?Data Pack → saves/[your world]/datapacks Resource Pack → resourcepacks (in the .minecraft folder)

Does CMD work with other resource packs or data packs?Yes, in most cases. Just make sure CMD’s resource pack is higher in the load order than other music/sound packs. Data packs that majorly change advancements may also not work with CMD.

What should I do if CMD isn’t working?Check that both packs are installed, and that the resource pack is enabled. If problems continue, join our Discord for help. Discord

How do I update CMD without breaking my world?Updating won't break your worlds! Replace the old data pack + resource pack with the new ones. Your discs will remain — no progress is lost. (If no change are done to old discs)

How do I get CMD discs in-game?Discs can be found, crafted, or given through special loot — just like vanilla ones. You can also find detailed info in the in-game or external CMD Wikis. External Wiki

Does CMD work on Realms?It should, but isn't tested. Everyone will need the resource pack for music to play.

Will CMD lag my world/server?CMD is lightweight and shouldn't cause noticeable lag.

Can I use CMD in modded Minecraft?Usually yes — as long as the modpack doesn’t break vanilla data/resource pack functionality.

Can CMD be used with Minecraft snapshots?CMD is made for stable releases. Some snapshots may work, but we don’t officially support them.
