A Holiday Celebration to Close 2025 (just two months late)

Winter has arrived in Minecraft (somewhat late) — and with it comes CMD v8: Winter Wonderland, our festive holiday update celebrating Christmas, cosy vibes, and a full year of Minecraft adventures.

This update marks the first CMD release of 2026, while also acting as a musical time capsule to wrap up everything Minecraft gave us in 2025.

🎄 A Holiday Update at Heart

Winter Wonderland is a holiday and Christmas celebration update, focused on cosy atmospheres, snowy villages, festive crafting, and a sense of reflection after a busy year of Minecraft updates.

While there are no new structures in this update, Winter Wonderland leans fully into what CMD does best: music, discovery, and atmosphere.

💿 9 Brand-New Music Discs

CMD v8 adds 9 new music discs, split into two distinct groups:

These discs embrace cosy builds, snowy exploration, and festive crafting sessions.

📀 Wrapping Up Minecraft 2025

The remaining 6 discs celebrate major Minecraft updates and themes from 2025, giving the year a proper send-off:

Think of these as musical postcards from the past year — familiar, nostalgic, and perfectly at home in CMD’s growing library.

🛠️ How to Obtain the New Discs

Most discs in Winter Wonderland are crafted, staying true to CMD’s survival-friendly philosophy.

However, two festive discs are found naturally in vanilla structures:

Crafter’s Candy Canes → Igloos
Wondrous Workshop → Snowy Villages

⚠️ Important Change

Because Wondrous Workshop now occupies the Snowy Village loot pool:

Serene Snow (Wave 1)
- ❌ Removed from Snowy Villages
- ✅ Now found only in Taiga Villages

📦 Resource Pack Optimisation Continues

Winter Wonderland continues our slow but careful process of resource pack compression:

Smaller file sizes
No noticeable audio quality loss

This is an ongoing effort and will continue throughout future updates.
