CMD has grown a lot over the past few years — more discs, more features, more integration, and an amazing community around it.
With recent updates like Scary Chambers and Winter Wonderland, I want to take a moment to talk openly about the update schedule, what’s planned for 2026, and what’s coming beyond the core datapack itself.

📅 Update Schedule - Transparency Going Forward
Let’s address something honestly.
Recent updates, such as Scary Chambers and Winter Wonderland, were internally delayed by 1-2 months. No public release date was announced beforehand, but internally, the planned timeline was pushed back.
The reasons were simple and real:
Time constraints
Burnout
Real-life priorities
CMD is a passion project — and while I care deeply about it, it has to coexist with real life.
Going forward, the update schedule will remain open and flexible, but I will aim to align major updates with Minecraft’s seasonal Drops (Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn). This gives CMD a natural rhythm that matches the game itself.
🎶 Planned Updates for 2026
2026 is shaping up to be a big year for CMD.
Four major updates are currently planned:
❄ Winter — Winter Wonderland
Releasing 24th February

🌸 Spring — Pokémon Update (Working Title)
A themed update inspired by Pokémon. More details will be revealed closer to release.
☀ Summer — Celebrations!
This will be a special one.
The Summer update will celebrate:
🎮 17 Years of Minecraft
💿 2 Years of CMD
🎤 70th Anniversary of Eurovision
🍂 Autumn — Tribute to Minecraft
This update will bring songs from the Minecraft soundtrack into disc form.
It’s something that feels long overdue — giving iconic Minecraft music a collectable survival experience inside the game.
🔧 Ongoing Improvements
Alongside these updates, resource pack compression will continue gradually throughout the year. This helps reduce file size while maintaining quality and keeping CMD sustainable long-term.

🎧 Expanding Beyond CMD
2026 is not just about disc updates. CMD is expanding.
🔊 CMD Add-On
We’re currently developing a new add-on (name TBA).
This pack will allow players to hear CMD music in the background during gameplay — without requiring the datapack.
That means:
No discs
No loot integration
Just immersive music
It’s perfect for players who want the soundtrack experience without the survival mechanics.
We’re also working on something more! It will be Similar to the CMD Add-On, bringing music into the game — but this one focuses specifically on something else!

🌐 Website Wiki Update
The Website Wiki.
Yes… that one.
It hasn’t been updated in a long time — and at this point, it’s become a bit of an ongoing joke that we’ll “update it soon.”
This summer, we’re doing our best to finally break that curse.
The goal is to properly refresh the website wiki and bring it up to date with modern CMD versions.
No promises on exact timing — but the intention is clear.
💬 Thank You
CMD wouldn’t exist without the community.
Every download, every message, every piece of feedback — it all matters.
2026 is about:
Sustainable updates
Better structure
Expanding the music experience
And continuing to grow CMD in a healthy way
Thank you for sticking with the project — even through delays.
The future of CMD isn’t just more discs.
It’s a richer Minecraft soundtrack experience.
